The Oceanside Adult Day Health Care Center…Helping Families Ride the Wave

As we go grow into adulthood it may occur to us that at some point in time we may be faced with assisting an aging parent or relative. Then one day by either choice or default we find that we have become a “Caregiver”. There is nothing in life that really prepares us for this role and it can be a “sink or swim” proposition. Those who are good swimmers and who are able to navigate the currents are people who over time have developed good coping strategies – part of which is educating one self to what type of services exist in the community.
It is impossible to count the innumerable times over the last 20 years people have remarked “I wish I knew about your program when I was caring for my mother”. I’d like to take this chance to introduce you to a program considered to be a “life preserver” by both families and professionals. Since 1985, The Oceanside Adult Day Center has been living it’s mission of supporting frail and impaired adults living in North Coastal San Diego County. A sense of belonging, meaningful activity, and optimum health are important to each of us regardless of age or disability. We value and focus on the individual, tailoring a program that takes into consideration each person’s life history, abilities and needs. We provide daytime care (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) to persons with diagnosis’ including Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, Parkinson’s, and developmental disabilities.
Our participants benefit from:
  • Socialization and therapeutic activities in a safe, secure environment
  • A nutritious noon meal with a.m. and p.m. snacks
  • Nursing supervision, health monitoring, and medication administration
  • Rehabilitative services
  • Transportation Coordination
Our family support services have real benefits for the family as well. Family caregivers benefit from:
  • Respite and a reprieve from worry
  • Ability to keep older loved ones at home longer
  • Someone to support them with their changing needs.
If you feel someone you know might benefit from our program please call (760) 433-9942 for information.
