Sansay issued patent for enhanced Web services

San Diego-based Sansay Inc., a developer of software-based VoIP infrastructure for the communication services provider market, announced it has been granted a U.S. patent for a process that enables providers to offer enhanced Web-based multimedia services more quickly and reliably.

The patent describes a method for telecommunications services providers to deliver audio, video and multimedia services through an Internet relay provided by a session border controller without routing packets through a network device called a TURN server.

The process yields faster connections, a better user experience, greater scalability, improved reliability and greater protection against denial-of-service attacks.

The patent was authored by Sansay CTO Gerald Ryner.
