Clancy joins Sentek board

Sentek Global, a provider of government and commercial technology programs, announced that venture capitalist and entrepreneur Tom Clancy has joined its board of advisors.

Clancy is the managing director of TAO Venture Partners, an investor in mobile device recycling service echoATM, which sold to Outerwall for $350 million in cash last July.

Prior to founding TAO in 2006, Clancy spent eight years leading software, services and Internet investments at Enterprise Partners, a regional $1 billion venture capital fund focused in the technology and health care sectors. He also sits on the board of directors for WineDirect and the San Diego Venture Group. In addition, Clancy is the board chairman for Software San Diego.

He received a bachelor’s of science in computer and systems engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1979.

“I have been following Sentek Global for some time and am impressed with the caliber of people not only leading the company, but the talent that is delivering a wide range of government and commercial technology services,” Clancy said. “I look forward to offering my insights and helping see this company take advantage of the ever changing market place.”
