Verimatrix appoints Steve Oetegenn as president

San Diego-based Verimatrix, which secures and enhances revenue for multinetwork, multiscreen digital TV services, announced that Steve Oetegenn has been named president of the company.

Oetegenn will play a more strategic role in the continued growth of the company as more large digital video operators are transitioning to an IP-centric network infrastructure. With his renewed focus, Oetegenn will be driving a higher level of customer engagement that is required to strengthen and grow the company's global pay-TV operator base.

Oetegenn has specialized in digital security and anti-piracy for nearly 20 years working with government agencies, Fortune 500 companies and major Hollywood studios. Prior to joining Verimatrix, he was COO of MediaSec Technologies LLC, a pioneer in the field of digital watermarking; COO of Argus Systems Group, a leading provider of Internet server security software; and CEO of DCE Communication Ltd, a worldwide provider of business messaging systems.

During his tenure at Verimatrix, he has presented at numerous industry and business conferences including the company's successful Multi-network Forum series and CEO Summits. As president, he will also continue to lead the sales and marketing efforts.
