MicroPower adds to advisory board

MicroPower Technologies Inc., a provider of wireless surveillance services, appointed a former Skype and eBay executive to its advisory board.

Alex Kazim, currently Hewlett Packard's senior vice president of hp.com, will lend his business and leadership expertise with high-growth companies to the MicroPower management team. Kazim’s experience spans various start-up organizations and global enterprises in technology.

"Alex brings us unmatched expertise in business leadership, which will help guide MicroPower as we continue to innovate and transform the surveillance market," said Jon Siann, CEO of MicroPower Technologies.

The company’s video security technologies redefine the use of surveillance in outdoor and perimeter applications through the use of intelligent algorithms that enhance video transmission and bandwidth, and reduce power.

Prior to his role at HP, Kazim was co-founder and CEO at Ongo, a news aggregator and Tokoni, an online story-sharing provider.

In 2006, he served as president of Skype, where he was responsible for product development and innovation of the company's offerings on a global scale. From 1998 to 2006, Kazim served in various executive management roles at eBay.
