Teams of students will compete at the NAIOP University Challenge on Thursday for the best use of a Little Italy property.

California Western School of Law’s advanced mediation program received the Center for Civic Mediation’s 2012 Louis M. Brown Conflict Prevention Award this week in recognition of its work to contribute to a more just and peaceful society.

The University of San Diego will honor alumnus Theodore J. Boutrous Jr., with the Author E. Hughes Career Achievement Award at this yearís Alumni Honors gala on April 28. Boutrous is a partner of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. He is co-chair of the firm’s appellate and constitutional law group, its crisis management group and its media and entertainment group. He also is a member of Gibson Dunn's five-person global management committee.

Nat and Flora Bosa have made a $5 million donation toward the construction of the new Monarch School, a San Diego public K-12 school for children who are homeless.
