Lori Dawson joined Heller Ehrman as a senior paralegal in 1999 and serves as the San Diego office paralegal supervisor, managing eight local paralegals in addition to being a member of the firm's litigation department. She has worked in the legal field for 30 years and as a litigation paralegal for 25 years. Dawson assists the litigation department attorneys in areas including intellectual property, commercial, business and employment litigation. Prior to joining Heller Ehrman, Dawson was a senior paralegal at Lillick, McHose & Charles and Pillsbury Madison & Sutro.
Dawson currently provides support to the litigation team, most notably in representing Qualcomm in major wireless communications patent litigation. She has also been instrumental to the team on a number of trials defending San Diego companies.
In 2006, she managed four major lawsuits on behalf of Qualcomm. She handled operations and logistics, including daily communications with the client; coordinated the review and production of millions of pages of documents and led the document review team, composed of 20 attorneys; and supported at least 100 depositions and countless critical motion hearings.
For the last two years, Dawson has coordinated the Heller Ehrman team "Walk for the Cure" for the Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation. She also co-chaired the "Great Chefs of San Diego" event for the National Kidney Foundation for the past five years.
