Lynn Johnson is a senior paralegal at Gordon & Rees, where she has been employed since 1997. She is a member of the Gordon & Rees AgChem Team, whose work centers on product liability and toxic torts litigation. She obtained her paralegal certificate in civil litigation, with honors, from the University of San Diego in 1995.
Johnson began her work as an advocate in 1984. She worked as a labor negotiator and organizer for the American Federation of Musicians (international union) for nearly 10 years, negotiating collective-bargaining agreements for professional symphony musicians across the United States and Canada. She also administered complex union contracts and wrote articles for trade publications. Johnson worked as a labor-relations representative for the California State Employees Association from 1990-1991, representing state employees in grievances, arbitrations and disciplinary hearings.
In her first career, Johnson was a professional symphony musician, performing as a violist with the San Diego Symphony, San Diego Opera and professional symphony orchestras in Ohio and Alabama.
Johnson has a strong commitment to volunteerism in her community of Eastlake, Chula Vista. She served for three years as chairwoman of the Olympic View Elementary School Site Council. She has been a member of the Eastlake Little League board of directors for the past three years and recently drafted its first set of operating bylaws.
