As senior paralegal at Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps, Patricia Kushner is tasked with the management of the office and client cases. She has served as lead paralegal on multimillion-dollar cases. She drafts and prepares documents, including initial pleadings, motions, subpoenas, judgments, briefs and standard provisions for marital settlement agreements. She attends depositions and hearings as necessary, researches legal descriptions and other documentation necessary for transfer of property. Kushner also supervises office support staff and mentors incoming paralegals.
Kushner is team captain for the Luce Forward team for the Susan G. Komen Walk for the Cure in San Diego. Other volunteer efforts include working at community legal clinics for the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program; serving as a bilingual voting poll worker in San Diego County, securing minorities with fair access to the polls and encouraging minorities and low-income citizens to vote; and guest speaking at paralegal courses at schools throughout San Diego County.
Prior to working at Luce Forward, Kushner worked in family law with the firms Shea and Ashworth and Mitchell, Ashworth, Keeney, Barry & Pike.
Kushner has been a multiple recipient of the State Bar of California's Manuel Wiley Award for exceptional service to the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program.
