Karen Morris specializes in the exclusive handling of family law matters, and has been with the law firm of Basie & Fritz for 18 years. She handles complex and high-asset family law matters from intake to trial. She supervises the paralegal staff, including training and assigning of case handling, has direct involvement with firm administration and performs reviews of personnel.
Morris has extensive experience in forensic accounting and trial preparation, as well as broad discovery-related experience in the preparation of pleadings. She has concentrated client contact and communications with opposing counsel, court personnel and experts, as well as others in the legal community. She attends hearings and handles document production reviews on select cases. Her responsibilities include management of case preparation for settlement conference, mediation and trial.
Morris previously worked with private practitioner Edward R. Brien, supporting the handling of cases in the areas of family law, general civil law, criminal law, estate planning and probate.
She graduated from the University of San Diego paralegal program with honors in 1989, and has since completed substantial continuing education coursework.
