Carolyn Scott is a senior paralegal at Latham & Watkins LLP, specializing in litigation. During her 20 years with the firm, she has assisted on numerous matters, including trademark infringement, copyright disputes, construction defect actions, breach of contract cases, real estate disputes, insurance bad faith cases, SEC investigations, appellate work, pro bono matters and federal criminal matters. Scott has managed complex litigation matters from inception to trial, including discovery and trial preparation, supervising and working with the trial support teams for joint defense counsel, preparing trial exhibits, setting up case management systems and preparing witnesses. In addition, she has been active in preparing training modules, and presenting training seminars to paralegals in discovery, motion and trial practice.
Previously, Scott worked with American Legal Systems as project manager for the Coordinated Asbestos Insurance Trial in San Francisco, managing a computerized litigation support system for 20 law firms, both plaintiffs and defendants, and the court. Scott began her paralegal career with Vinson & Elkins in Houston.
Scott is a board member and class sponsor of Mothers and Daughters Club Assisting Philanthropies (MADCAPS), which provides community service to organizations such as St. Vincent de Paul, Children's Hospital, Head Start and Habitat for Humanity.
