Melanie Leander

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney

As an office administrator with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC in San Diego, Melanie Leander directs and mentors all staff, and is responsible for all aspects of  recruiting and hiring. She works with the human resources department on employment laws, is responsible for employee relations, and works directly with staff to ensure a complete understanding of procedures. Leander also monitors the San Diego office budget and manages the technology and communications systems.

Previously, she was with Gordon & Rees LLP, following its merger in 2003 with Brown Martin Haller & McClain LLP, as director of administration.

Leander earned her bachelor’s of science degree in business administration with finance emphasis from San Diego State University in 1994. She also obtained a certificate in Human Resources from San Diego State University in 2003.

Leander is a member of the San Diego and national Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), and participated on the local Salary Survey and Vendor Fair committees. She is also a member of the San Diego Chapter of Society of Human Resource Management.
