Welcome to the Executive Profiles section of Point Loma Nazarene University's Master of Business Administration program. Featuring current graduates of the MBA as well as the members of the faculty, the intention is to provide the San Diego business community a convenient connecting point to the high quality individuals involved in the Point Loma Nazarene University MBA. As members of the Fermanian School of Business at PLNU, over 500 students are currently pursuing either undergraduate or graduate business degrees in both day and evening classes.

Mr. Christopher Kim

2008 Graduates

Invitrogen Corp.

Mr. Christopher Kim is a Market Development Manager for Invitrogen Corporation, a global supplier of life science products and services based in Carlsbad, CA. He is responsible for the global marketing of and sales training for six product lines in the Cloning and Protein Expression business unit and also deals with operational logistics, revenue forecasting, pricing and manufacturing.

Prior to Invitrogen, he worked as a lab manager for the Genomic Analysis Laboratory at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. He brings over fifteen years of molecular biology and genetics research experience and played a key role in the sequencing of the first plant genome, Arabidopsis thaliana.

Chris earned a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology from the University of Pennsylvania, a Business Administration certification from the Wharton School of Business, and a Masters of Business Administration from Point Loma Nazarene University. He was named MBA Student of the Year for 2008. His MBA thesis project was to develop and implement a marketing campaign to develop sales awareness and drive market share gain while also developing a business plan to maintain sustainable growth in the plasmid purification market.

Christopher and his wife and son reside in San Marcos, California. He enjoys traveling with his family, watching movies, and golfing.
