Welcome to the Executive Profiles section of Point Loma Nazarene University's Master of Business Administration program. Featuring current graduates of the MBA as well as the members of the faculty, the intention is to provide the San Diego business community a convenient connecting point to the high quality individuals involved in the Point Loma Nazarene University MBA. Prof. Randy Ataide, J.D.

Faculty

Point Loma Nazarene University

Professor Ataide is an entrepreneur and business leader with over 25 years of starting and managing his own companies in a variety of industries. Prior to joining the faculty of the Fermanian School of Business, Ataide was the CEO and co-owner of Mountain View Fruit Sales, Inc., and Mountain View Cold Storage, Inc., and Summeripe Worldwide, Inc. located in Reedley, California. He remains co-owner of the firms and is involved in a variety of agricultural and business interests in the Fresno area.


In the Fermanian School of Business, Professor Ataide teaches entrepreneurship and small business management at both the undergraduate and MBA level, as well as also teaching management, sales and sales management as needed. His emphasis is upon the processes and critical skills needed for the entrepreneur to succeed in the competitive environment of the global marketplace, and his classes focus especially upon the writing, reading and oral communication skills for executives. His classes also engage in many group projects, field trips and in-depth analytical and strategic exercises.


Professor Ataide holds a B.A. in Speech Communication from C.S.U. Fresno; a M.A. in Theology from Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary; and a J.D. from San Joaquin College of Law. He also attended Stanford Business School’s Executive Management Program and graduated from Harvard Business School’s Owners-Presidents Management Program in 2006, and was selected as graduation speaker by his class. He is a member of the California State Bar Association and also is involved in many agricultural and professional associations. He also served in the U.S. Navy from 1976-1980 and earned numerous commendations and an Honorable Discharge.


He has addressed many groups and provided consulting services to, among others, Kaiser-Permanente, the U.S. Farm Credit Administration, Farm Credit Southwest of Arizona and the International Agricultural Exposition, as well as many Christian organizations and churches.


He resides in Point Loma with his wife of 28 years, Ruth Ataide, and they have three grown children. His personal passions include reading, writing, travel and business start-ups.
