Judith A. Hansen is senior corporate and securities paralegal in the Del Mar Heights office of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP. In addition to general corporate and corporate governance duties, such as forming corporations, preparing incorporation documents and board and shareholder minutes and consent actions, Hansen creates and manages online electronic data rooms utilized for document-laden due diligence review for large transactions such as PIPE and mergers and acquisitions. She researches, prepares and files SEC Forms 3, 4 and 5, Forms D and Blue Sky state securities filings. Previous to Sheppard, Hansen worked at Luce Forward Hamilton & Scripps LLP in the business practice group.
Thirteen years ago, Hansen began her paralegal career in New York at a newly public biotech company in the general counsel, securities and licensing areas. In 1995 she joined the law firm of Squadron, Ellenoff, Plesent & Sheinfeld LLP, where she rose to corporate paralegal coordinator in 2000, supervising five paralegals. While at Squadron and in addition to her management duties, Judith worked in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings and corporate restructurings for large public companies such as News Corp. From New York, Hansen moved to Auckland, New Zealand, where she was employed by Brookfields Lawyers, further broadening her legal experience working in the local government and environmental management areas alongside and assisting some of New Zealand's leading government solicitors and advisers.
Hansen has enjoyed volunteer work including teaching creative dramatics summer workshops at Spring Valley Community Center, after-school tutoring for Kids At Heart and participating as a volunteer host and tour guide for the Pacific Rim Advisory Council meeting in San Diego 2007.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma City University, a master’s degree from University of Southern California and a paralegal diploma from New York University.
