Ross Simmons is actively representing over 100 private companies, of all sizes and in many sectors, supporting transactions and dispute-avoidance strategies. He brings a diverse skill-set, for example having served as lead corporate counsel for clients in multimillion-dollar asset-backed securitizations, but also routinely advising small-business owners in their far smaller but equally significant legal matters.

Ross has practiced in San Diego throughout, and founded The Simmons Firm ALC in 1997. Its practice is primarily devoted to start-up ventures, representation in both general and significant business matters and transactions, real property tax, title and transactional matters, trust administration and transactional matters, and trademarks and copyright.
Professional Affiliations
Ross is currently co-vice chair of the San Diego County Bar Association Legal Ethics Committee, having previously been a four-term chair during which time he was awarded that Association’s Outstanding Service Award in 1994. He also served as co-chair of that Association’s Multi-Disciplinary Practice Committee. Ross is also a member of the American Bar Association Center for Professional Responsibility. In addition, he teaches Professional Responsibility as an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Diego School of Law.

Ross serves as the Committee Chair for Troop 681, Boy Scouts of America, which awarded him Volunteer of the Year in 2005 and 2008. He is a life member of the National Eagle Scout and Eagle Scout Alumni Associations.

Ross lives in Rancho Bernardo with his wife Marcie, and three sons, Hunter, Sam and Jack.
