I regularly represent venture capital funds and technology companies in venture financings. I also represent public and private companies in securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions. I have particularly strong experience representing software, Internet and mobile applications companies. My client base includes leading venture funds such as Mission Ventures, and leading technology companies such as vMix, Enviance and Semtek. In 2007, I represented a leading San Diego internet company, Realage Inc., in its sale to Hearst Corp. and represented both vMix and Semtek in significant venture rounds. I also represented Mission Ventures in venture investments in a number of San Diego and Southern California-based technology companies.
Professional Background
I started my career as a corporate securities lawyer focused on venture financings, initial public offerings and mergers and acquisitions in Orange County, Calif. I moved to San Diego in 1996, where I continued that focus and developed a strong reputation as a leading Internet and venture capital attorney. I also was part of the executive management team of a venture-backed Internet company located in San Diego in 2000 through 2001.
Professional Affiliations
I am presently a board member of the San Diego Venture Group and served as president of the organization in 2003. I have served as a board member of the CONNECT Springboard program and am a regular participant in that program.
