Christopher Plourd has been a practicing litigation attorney for the past 26 years, specializing in cases involving forensic scientific evidence. Plourd has engaged extensively in scientific evidence consulting in legal matters involving forensic DNA identity testing throughout the United States and is considered one of a handful of attorneys in the United States who is proficient in the use of forensic DNA technologies.
In addition to DNA evidence, Plourd has considerable experience in cases involving bite mark identification evidence and blood spatter evidence.
Plourd is frequently asked to appear on television news and radio talk show programs to comment upon DNA and other forensic scientific evidence.
Professional Background
Plourd began his private practice law office in 1988. Prior to that he was staff attorney with Defenders Inc. on felony cases. He also served as assistant public defender in the Imperial County Public Defenders Office and was with Plourd, Blume, Scoville, Strickland and Breeze. Plourd began his law career with Justice Donald Work in the Fourth District Court of Appeals, Division One, in San Diego. He was certified by the California State Bar as a Criminal Law Specialist in 1991.
