Professional Background
Prior to joining DLA Piper, Craig Andrews was a shareholder for over five years at Heller Ehrman LLP, where he was a former Co-Chair of Heller Ehrman’s Venture Law Group. Prior to that, he was a Partner at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP for almost 15 years, where he chaired the firm’s National Business and Technology Practice from 1997-1999. In 1996, Andrews was co-founder and director of Collateral Therapeutics Inc., a Nasdaq-listed biotechnology company that was sold to Schering AG in 2002. From May 2000 to August 2001, he was vice president of business development at AirFiber, a venture capital-backed laser telecommunications company founded to commercialize technology developed at UCSD.

Andrews served as a member of the board of directors of many companies and organizations, including Collateral Therapeutics, Elgar Electronics (Nasdaq, sold to Dobson Park Industries), Endonetics (sold to Medtronic), GeneFormatics (sold to Genpathway), Axxora Life Sciences (sold to Enzo Biosciences), Encad (Nasdaq, sold to Kodak), Alexis Biochemicals (sold to Qbiogene), Rubios Restaurants (Nasdaq), Legacy Bank (merged into Landmark Bank), CONNECT, the San Diego Venture Group, the UCLA Alumni Association and the San Diego County Water Authority.
Personal Affiliations
Andrews is the Honorary Consul of Denmark for San Diego County, and in 2008 he was awarded a knighthood in the Order of the Danneborg by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark. He was president of the San Diego Consular Corps from 2004 -2006 and is a member of the San Diego City Mayor’s Science & Technology Commission.
Personal Background
He is married to Christine Larsen Andrews, has two children and enjoys tennis and the martial arts. He holds a black belt in Japanese traditional shito-ryu karate and is currently studying Arnis/Kali and Brazilian jiu-jitsu
