Uptown District Homeowners Association: Howard Silldorf created a unique settlement structure to maximize recovery. In the representation of the Uptown District Homeowner’s Association, Silldorf reached a settlement of $8.84 million on behalf of the homeowners. * Jones Intercable of San Diego, Inc. v. City of Chula Vista: Silldorf represented the city of Chula Vista. Jones alleged it was denied constitutional and statutory rights when denied to operate cable television systems in newly annexed areas. Silldorf won a summary judgment motion, prevailed in state and federal court, and the case was accepted for review by the U.S. Supreme Court. The case was a victory defeating a $28 million dollar plaintiff’s claim. * Ranchwood Communities v. Jim Beat Construction: Ranchwood established the law regarding unlicensed contractors and their ability to seek contribution and indemnity claims. Professional Background Silldorf has represented clients throughout Southern California since 1982. He has recovered more than $150 million for his clients in over 50 cases throughout his career. He has been an active member of Consumer Attorneys of California’s Legislative Council and assisted in drafting Civil Code §1375, the "Calderon Statute." Silldorf has taught courses on condominium ownership, construction deficiency and employment law for the California Association of Community Managers, Community Associations Institute, the University of California at San Diego Extension, Consumer Attorneys of California and various bar associations.
