The City of San Diego. Linda Woodbury, who is blind, was the disabled services coordinator for the city. She was terminated because she was insistent the city spend money to become ADA compliant, and because she was blind. The city denied liability but settled the case for $450,000 shortly before trial. I sued a drunk driver for a retired housekeeper who lost her leg just below her knee for $2.7 million. We structured the money so that she will be able to buy a home and send all of her nieces and nephews to college. I have also handled many sexual harassment, discrimination, whistle blower and other types of employment matters. Professional Background I opened my own office right out of law school. I’ve always been a plaintiff’s lawyer and a champion of the underdog. I have two jobs: I try to put myself in my clients’ shoes to understand how they felt when they were hurt, harassed, fired or discriminated against. And then I work to tell this story convincingly and with passion. Professional Affiliations I’m a member of CASD, CAOC, NELA, CELA, SDCBA and Lawyers Club of San Diego.
