Professional Background I have been a Certified Family Law Specialist since 1980. I have handled family law matters since 1975, and adoption matters since 1980. I was a partner with family law attorney Laury Baldwin for almost 20 years and have been with my current partner Hildy Fentin with our firm Stocks & Fentin LLP since 1999. The firm is AV rated and both partners have been named as Best Lawyers in America and as Super Lawyers. I handle complex divorce and custody cases and am a settlement judge for the Family Law Courts. I handle family law mediations. Professional Affiliations Member of the Family Law Sections of the San Diego County Bar Association, ABA and the California State Bar Association. Served on the State Bar Family Law Section Executive Committee for three years and as an adviser for seven years. Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Served as a board member, secretary and president of the Southern California Chapter of AAML. Founding fellow of the Academy of California Adoption Attorneys and a charter fellow of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys. Served as a committee member and past President of the San Diego County Bar Association Certified Family Law Specialists Committee. Member of the ADR/Mediation section of the ABA. Personal Affiliations I am a board member of Real Solutions Center for Children at Hannah’s House and a past board member of San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program. Personal Background My daughter Kristine Pogalies is an attorney and has worked with me since her graduation from law school in 1993. She handles adoptions, family formation law cases such as surrogacy, QDRO preparation and general family law matters.
