Recently, he represented Charlotte Russe Holding Inc. in a $131 million follow-on offering. He also represented CardioNet in its acquisition of PDSHeart, a private company in Florida, as well as a $110 million private financing that was one of the largest private placements in the medical technology sector since 2000. Muto is also currently representing Biosite Inc. in its much-publicized pending $1.6 billion acquisition by Inverness Medical Innovations Inc. He is actively working with 70 clients. Professional Background Muto is a partner in the Cooley Godward Kronish Business department, a member of the firm’s Management Committee, and partner in charge of the San Diego office. He specializes in corporate and securities law with an emphasis on representing public and emerging technology, biotechnology and growth companies. He also has extensive experience representing venture capital investors and investment banking firms. In 2006 and 2005 he was listed by Lawdragon as one of 500 leading lawyers in America. He was named by Nature magazine as one of 25 individuals -- and one of two attorneys -- instrumental to the success of San Diego as a high technology and biotechnology hub.
