It is the culmination of a lengthy peer voting process that began in February with the announcement of a call for nominations. San Diego County lawyers were asked who among their peers -- with whom they had professional experience -- were worthy of recognition.

Most family law cases involve numerous issues. Each issue could involve hundreds to millions of dollars. In the last year, several of my cases proceeded to trial and were resolved very favorably for my clients. In one case, opposing counsel claimed one issue was worth $27 million to his client. That issue was resolved in my client’s favor. In another case, the other side offered $50,000 in settlement on all issues. My client received a judgment of $495,000. Professional Background I had the good fortune of serving as court clerk for Judges Butler, Gilliam, Bechevfsky and Duffy. Working closely with these men and my court clerk experience has served me well. My partnership with Katherine Ashworth, Lisa Christenson and Sharon Kalemkiarian is professionally and personally rewarding. As a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in January 2006, I was the dean of that organization’s highly regarded Southern California Chapter’s three-day Trial Advocacy Institute. I am on its board of directors. Professional Affiliations I am a fellow of the American and International Academies of Matrimonial Lawyers and a Certified Family Law Specialist. In 1995, I was vice president of the San Diego County Bar Association. In 1991, I was vice president of Lawyers Club. Our firm is Martindale-Hubbell AV rated. In 2007, I was named one of Super Lawyers Top 25 Women Lawyers in San Diego. Personal Affiliations Locally, I am a strong supporter of the Humane Society and Voices for Children. On a national level, I support many organizations for the ethical treatment of animals and environmental issues. On an international level, I support organizations that are working for a better life for those who live in Africa.
