The plaintiff claimed over $34 million in royalties were owed. ¥ Successfully defended a nationwide class action against the world’s largest plush toy manufacturer. The plaintiffs alleged the manufacturer’s advertisements violated unfair competition and false advertising laws. ¥ Defended a class action against property management and real estate development companies. The plaintiffs alleged the defendants were making profits from tenant security deposits. The same plaintiff firm was awarded a multimillion-dollar jury verdict on a similar case in another county. Professional Background I was an associate at Shea Stokes McNitt & Carter between 1996 and 1998. I was an associate at Procopio Cory between 1998 and 2003, at which point I left to join Schwartz Semerdian Haile Ballard & Cauley where I was a partner. I returned to Procopio in 2006 as Senior Counsel to the firm. Professional Affiliations I am outside General Counsel to the Neighborhood Market Association, the largest independent grocer and retailer organization in the state of California. I am an active member of the Labor and Employment Section of the California State Bar; the Association of Business Trial Lawyers; the American Bar Association Class Action and Derivative Suites Committee and Committee on Business Litigation; and the San Diego County Bar Association, Litigation Section. I am also active in the community and presently serve on the Small Business Advisory Board for the city of San Diego.
