Stacey Kartchner represents individuals accused of criminal charges in both state and federal courts. She is dedicated to zealously protecting the rights, liberties and interests of her clients, and personally handles every client's matter. 


Before opening her own practice, Kartchner worked at the law firm of Grimes & Warwick for more than 10 years. As an associate attorney, she honed her skills representing hundreds of clients against criminal charges in both state and federal courts from the initial court appearance through sentencing and on appeal. Kartchner also gained useful knowledge and trial skills during her internship at the nationally renowned Federal Defenders of San Diego Inc.


In addition to running her practice, Kartchner is also the executive director of both the Criminal Defense Bar Association and the Criminal Defense Lawyer's Club. Further, she stays very active in the community through her volunteer efforts, membership in numerous associations and writing/editing articles in various publications.


Since her freshman year of college, Kartchner has had a passion for writing and editing articles. She has had more than a dozen articles published since she started her law career. Currently, she is on the Lawyer's Club News Editorial Board of the Lawyer's Club of San Diego, and writes an article for its newsletter on a quarterly basis. In addition, she is the editor of the Criminal Defense Bar Association/Criminal Defense Lawyer's Club newsletter.


Kartchner attended California Western School of Law, where she served on Law Review as the senior editor. After her first year, she was placed on the Dean's List and was awarded a scholarship. Moreover, she received an Academic Achievement Award and was given the Pro Bono Honors Award for her efforts on behalf of indigent criminal defendants.


She graduated from Cal Western with her J.D. in 2002, and earned a bachelor's in political science from the University of Utah in 1998.


Kartchner is admitted to the California State Bar; United States Supreme Court; Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals; and the United States District Court, Southern and Central Districts of California. She is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association; American Inns of Court, Welsh Chapter; National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; Criminal Defense Bar Association; Criminal Defense Lawyer's Club; Lawyer's Club of San Diego; and VIP Mentors.
