Sondra R. Levine is a graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law and an associate attorney in the San Diego office of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP.
In law school, Levine was a competing member of the National Mock Trial Team and the Vis Moot International Arbitration Team. She received oral advocacy awards for outstanding oral argument in the Lawyering Skills I class, and she received the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award at graduation. Levine remains connected to the University of San Diego School of Law by participating in the law school orientation and mock interview programs, speaking at career lectures, and serving as a volunteer judge for various moot court and mock trial competitions.
Levine joined Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP in 2007 and has established a track record of successfully managing a variety of litigation matters. She was the lead litigation associate attorney for the consolidation and representation of more than 300 defendants in San Diego Superior Court, and she was instrumental in drafting a motion under Cal. Code of Civil Procedure section 391.1 to require the plaintiff, a vexatious litigant, to post a security bond in the amount of $1.5 million.
Levine has also consulted and assisted in litigation matters across the United States. She has experience litigating both single plaintiff and class-action lawsuits. Her practice focuses primarily on the defense of professional liability and employment matters. Levine also represents companies and professionals in a wide variety of business and commercial matters, and has extensive experience in the financial services industry.
Levine is admitted in the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Central District courts of California, and she regularly represents clients in both the state and federal courts. Levine is also admitted to practice law in the state of Minnesota and the District of Columbia.
In addition to her litigation practice, Levine is a private mediator. She has completed extensive training focusing on mediation and negotiation, and she has experience mediating disputes arising from landlord/tenant claims, merchant/consumer disputes, business disputes and dissolution, marital dissolution, breach of contract claims, personal injury matters, professional negligence, and employment claims. In her spare time, Levine serves as a volunteer mediator for North County Life Line and the Small Claims Court at the North County Superior Court in Vista.
Levine also speaks and writes on various legal issues. She has written for the San Diego Defense Lawyers Association publication, The Update, and has published three articles in the Journal of Contemporary Legal Issues. In January 2012, she will be speaking on conflict resolution in the workplace at the San Diego Society of Human Resource Management Law Day Conference.
Levine is a member of the San Diego Defense Lawyers Association, the Fiorenzo V. Lopardo Inn of Court, the Welsh Inn of Court, and the Mother Attorney Mentoring Association. She is married and is the mother of a 4-year-old daughter, Addison.
