Professional Background
Maria Palmieri has devoted her legal career to the representation of victims of catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, medical malpractice and wrongful business practices. Upon graduation from California Western School of Law in 2003, she garnered a position as a legal clerk and attorney with veteran medical malpractice litigator Barry & Harris, where she honed her legal advocacy skills for more than a year. She then accepted employment as an associate attorney with Rosenberg Shpall & Associates. While there, she litigated medical malpractice, wrongful business practices and serious personal injury matters.
In October 2005, Palmieri accepted a position as a trial attorney with John H. Gomez at the inception of his newly founded firm, The Gomez Law Firm. Since that time, Palmieri has obtained over $110 million in verdicts and settlement for her clients, with the largest wrongful death verdict in California history.

As part of The Gomez Law Firm's First Saturday Program, Palmieri has volunteered her time to several organizations in the past year including Helen Woodward Animal Center, Special Olympics, and I Love a Clean San Diego. Palmieri also participated in the Halloween Read-In at Central Elementary School with Lawyers Club of San Diego. In May, she served on a three-day jury criminal trial in San Diego Superior Court. In October, she devoted her time to serve as an attorney facilitator for law students with the San Diego Bar Association program, "What They Didn't Tell You in Law School."
