Removal of South Bay Power Plant to improve Chula Vista views

The South Bay Power Plant has been a fixture on the Chula Vista waterfront for more than 50 years. With its behemoth boiler structures, turbine generator and towering steel framework, the plant, located at 990 Bay Boulevard in Chula Vista, has provided power to thousands of San Diego County residents, but at the same time, gained the ire of many who longed to see it torn down.

When will the implosions occur? Will they be visible to observers watching from any of the South Bay parks? Is there a best location to observe from?
