Solana Beach ad agency NYCA was recently hired by The Honest Kitchen, which produces dehydrated, human-grade natural foods for dogs and cats.

The agency's involvement initially includes redevelopment of The Honest Kitchen’s website.

Berkman has promoted senior team member Michael Guzzo to associate vice president/account supervisor.

Guzzo now directs and oversees strategic PR operations and will continue to participate in new business development, assist in client engagements and administer national and international publicity campaigns.

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority Public and Customer Relations team, along with public relatioins partner Porter Novelli, recently received a first place Silver Award of Excellence in the Community Relations category for The Green Build community outreach efforts at the PRSA San Diego/Imperial Counties Bernays Awards last month.

Highlights of the community relations program including maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, minimizing impact on airport revenue, enhancing media relations and increasing communication with travelers and neighbors through sustainable programs like email alerts, webpage articles and social media.

In addition, Diana Lucero, director of public and customer relations, received the 2011 Deborah Baker Public Relations Professional of the Year Award. The award recognizes her PR achievements over the past year and her nearly two decade career with the Airport Authority.

Chemistry PR has added The Habit Burger Grill to its portfolio -- they are providing media relations, community outreach and strategic PR services in support of the eatery's expansion into San Diego with its first restaurant in Mission Valley.

There are plans to open a Carmel Mountain Ranch location in the near future.

The San Diego office of J Public Relations has expanded with two new recent hires. Lauren Overby, publicist, and Trish Dewell, the firm's new controller.

Prior to her new position, Overby worked as an account executive at a communications agency in New Orleans. Overby's current client list includes Sprinkles Cupcakes, San Diego Beer Week, RA Sushi, Fixtures Living, Westfield UTC, TailGate Beer and Nika Water.

Dewell previously worked as an accounting and HR manager for San Diego Magazine.
