Total Gym names marketing manager

San Diego-based Total Gym recently named Jacqueline Edelman as marketing communications manager, responsible for the strategic direction and execution of all internal and external communications.

In her new role, Edelman will develop and maintain Total Gym's branding and identity including the expansion of the company's presence and impact on social media and will oversee all public relations outreach, advertising and direct marketing campaigns to customers and business partners.

Previously, Edelman spent six years at J. Walcher Communications.


Press club offers workshop

The San Diego Press Club his hosting a workshop on Financial Planning for Free-Lancers: Best Advice from a Financial Advisor, a Business Coach and a CPA. Taking place from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept.12 at I.D.E.A. offices, the event is being offered for freelancers faced with managing their own business who might need help and guidance from small business, investment tax and accounting experts.

Panelists include: Ron Sahmel, Sahmel & Associates; Matt Rinkey, Rinkey Investments; and Aaron Keith, founder of Ascension.

Photo sharing topic of meeting

Why should you consider photo sharing sites like Pinterest and Instagram for your business? The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce is hosting a social media workshop from 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Sept. 13 to answer that question.

Sites and apps like Instagram and Pinterest are transforming the way that we share experiences and businesses can capitalize on their popularity, real-time posting, and integration with sites they already frequent to increase sales and brand awareness.
