The MCRD Museum Historical Society has recently hired Lisa Marie Russell as the director of marketing and public relations.

Russell, who had previously been a volunteer with the society, will aim to raise the profile of the museum in the community as well as develop strategic partnerships with corporate sponsors.

The museum, located at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, is open to the public, and admission is free.

OMMA Magazine announced the winners of its annual Digital Agency of the Year Awards, with San Diego company Digitaria named as Top Design Agency of 2012.

"Winning this award is a tribute to the blend of our creative department and the creative technologists who make their ideas come to life," CEO Daniel Khabie said.

The agency was recognized for its website, mobile and out-of-home interactive products launched in 2012. Digitaria reinvented Petco's social presence and created a number of gamification experiences; redesigned and rebuilt DiscoverLosAngeles' and SanDiego.org's websites for their tourism bureaus; redesigned and built DiscoverAmerica.com to promote the United States; designed and built a new website for TaylorGuitars.com; and designed banner and print ads for Rolex.

Scatena Daniels Communications has been picked as the agency of record for the Rancho Family YMCA, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year.

The agency will be responsible for strategic communications leadership to increase awareness, membership and financial support.
