Henry Nordhoff

Gen-Probe is no stranger to recognition, and CEO and President Henry Nordhoff is keeping it that way.

In 1985, Gen-Probe was the first nucleic acid diagnostic company to use DNA probe technology. Today, it strives to be the world leader in molecular diagnostics for human disease. Under Nordhoff's stewardship, Gen-Probe has been recognized for its efforts by top national business publications, including Forbes "200 Best Small Companies," Business Week: "The Hot 100 Growth Companies," Wired 40 -- Companies Driving the Global Economy, the Wall Street Journal's Shareholders Scorecard Best Performers and more.

Gen-Probe also was named a Best Company to Work For in 2005 by California AARP and the San Diego Business Journal. Perhaps most notably, Gen-Probe received the 2004 National Medal of Technology Laureate by President George W. Bush for its pioneering work developing disease testing for donated blood supply.
