Frank Marquez

Growing up in Los Angeles, Frank Marquez, owner and president of Bonita Pipeline Inc., was exposed to the construction industry at an early age. When he was about seven years old, he started job shadowing his dad, thanks to his father's boss.

The company implemented a program that paid the sons of employees to watch their fathers' work. Marquez's father's boss believed that the future of the construction industry was the sons of his employees. He would also pay the sons a bonus if they found a more efficient way to complete the construction task.

"If it sounded reasonable to him, he would have someone try it," Marquez said of his father's boss. "And if it worked and expedited the task, he would implement it."
