Most of Intellectual Technology Inc.'s business takes place outside the San Diego area and it has less than a dozen local employees, but observers say the Carlsbad company is on the move.

Under Craig Litchin, the firm's president, chief operating officer and principal financial officer, ITI provides solutions for the automated printing and dispensing of motor vehicle forms and license plate decals, such as self-service machines to dispense auto registrations at department of motor vehicle offices.
