Brickman Group specializes in Class A, educational, retail and residential property landscape maintenance and installation. According to Glenn Wilhite, division manager, the Brickman Group has been in existence for more than 65 years, but has only been in San Diego since 2000.
Before working with Brickman, Wilhite, who graduated from the Air Force through an extension program at Pepperdine University, worked for Brookwood Landscape, a San Diego-based landscape company that in 2000 was bought by Brickman.
Since the purchase of Brookwood, Brickman has established eight offices in the county.
The company has two functions: commercial landscape maintenance and new installation, which are both applied to Class A properties.
While Wilhite believes in the quality of work performed by Brickman employees, it is the character of the employees that has made the company, and in the past Brookwood, successful.
"It's (about) being ethical and providing good customer service," he said.
