Matrix Enterprises specializes in fabricating models and prototypes, but runs the gamut with its capabilities.

It typically makes one item at a time for clients as big as Sony and as small as the inventor of an edible dog bowl. While the dog bowl machined by Matrix Enterprises was made of plastic, it served as a prototype for the real thing its inventor could show to investors.

"They say a picture's worth a thousand words, but a model's worth a thousand pictures," said owner Ernie Stewart.
