It works with more than 100 local businesses and the major players in San Diego's military community, including Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, or SPAWAR, the Navy's port commanders and Camp Pendleton, and employs more than 830 people locally, according to David Karp, a senior vice president who oversees the firm's SPAWAR account.

Throughout her career as an educator and in her current position as vice president of the Division of Community Engagement for California State University San Marcos (CSUSM), she has helped create a similar supportive and nurturing environment for students and the conditions to help them succeed in their educational endeavors.
