Ballpark District development makes quick progress
Despite more than 16 months of lost construction time and more than $20 million in additional costs resulting from delays, one thing is certain where the new downtown San Diego Ballpark and the surrounding redevelopment district are concerned: John Moores makes good on his promises.

Roel Construction Co. is progressing on construction of New York City-based Lambert Development's luxury condominium high-rise - Renaissance -- located in downtown San Diego. The exterior skin of the north tower is near completion and crews have recently poured the 13th level of the south tower. Roel's Concrete Group will be pouring one floor per week for the duration of the project.

Downtown high-rise office projects struggling to get out of the ground
Despite vacancy rates below 8 percent and an 11-year drought of new office space, only one of two planned high-rise buildings appears likely to get under construction in downtown San Diego this year.

Realizing the vision for our 'City of Villages'

Celebrating its 10-year anniversary, Arnett Construction has beefed up its management staff. For 10 years, it has been building its management team headed by its founder, Curt Arnett -- and on Aug. 19, Terry Arnett joined the firm as executive vice president.

Trolley tunnel and underground station under way at SDSU
