The San Diego Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA San Diego) recently honored nine local office properties as “The Outstanding Building of the Year” (TOBY) Award winners in its third annual Winter Gala ceremony, recognizing excellence in commercial real estate.

The San Diego Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) is helping local youth have a happy holiday season with its annual “Give From Your Heart” gift drive, benefitting Promises2Kids. BOMA and its members will host nearly 300 collection bins at major office buildings throughout San Diego County. San Diegans are encouraged to drop off new and unwrapped gifts now through Dec. 11. A list of participating building drop off locations is available at bomasd.org, and the Promises2Kids gift wish list is available at promises2kids.org. 
On March 17, 2011, when Bethesda, Md.-based Host Hotels & Resorts Inc. (NYSE: HST) closed its $572 million acquisition of the 1,625-room Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, it successfully concluded the largest West Coast hotel transaction of the year. 
As 2011 comes to an end, it appears as though conditions for the San Diego commercial real estate market are improving across the board. Leasing market fundamentals and overall investment activity have improved at a moderate pace and are expected to continue to improve into 2012 under the following circumstances:
